November 5 - AGM and OISC Award
What a great night we had. Last night a large contingent of our members and friends/partners converged on Preston Streets Sala SanMarco for our annual celebration of our collective achievements and to attend to the annual general meeting and board election.
Seeing everyone in regular clothes and looking good is always fun. The business part of the evening went over quickly with a concise presidents report and financial report, both accepted easily. This was followed by a presentation and affirmative votes on a few small constitutional changes. The dissolution of the 2004-2005 board followed the presentation of the new board. The new board looks awesome, with great new talent and energy it bodes well for our continued growth and securing a fun-filled season for next year.
And some of our retiring board members have agreed to continue as volunteersin crucial web and communications roles as well. Check out the slate here.
Dinner was followed by the presentation of the coveted OISC awards. This part is typically the evening's highlight and it delivered again this year. Check out the 2005 winners here. The DJs and dancing that followed was lots offun. Everyone milledaround til late to chatandcatch up and talkabout winter training, indoor skating, cross training and make dinner dates with friends.
