Overview

The Ottawa Inline Skating Club Festival is a great opportunity to participate in races from a 5 km family race to a full marathon. Organized by skaters for skaters, the whole day is about celebrating and enjoying inline skating.

The races take place on the pristine, freshly paved Rockcliffe Parkway between the Kaymar Drive pedestrian access point (3 km east of Aviation Museum and Rockcliffe Airport) and St Joseph Blvd. The route is safe, smooth and fast with a scenic Ottawa River and forest backdrop. Race Kit Pick Up

We highly recommend that skaters pick up their race kits in advance of the event on Sunday. Participants can pick up their race kits on Saturday 30 August at Malone's Bar and Grill at the Dow's Lake Pavilion from 1:00 until 4:00 PM. New registrations (cash only) will also be processed on the spot. For those who are unable to pick up their kits in advance, race kits can be picked up on site at the Festival Village (Parking Lot 7, across from the Kaymar Drive access point) starting at 9:00 am on Sunday 31 August. "Day of" registrations continue until noon on Sunday, 31 August on a cash only basis.

For Everyone

This festival is for recreational, fitness and competitive skaters alike. There is no difficulty in meeting the cut off times for the longer distance races. Skaters will have over 3:30 hours to complete the marathon and over 1:30 hours for the half marathon. Chip timing will be provided by SportsStats, with a complete ranking breakdown by age and gender categories.

Triple Crown

We've designed the schedule so that participants can skate or watch several races during this jam-packed afternoon. Beginning with the 10k (starting at 1:20 pm), those skaters who wish to get more distance in can skate in at least 3 events, i.e.. the 10k, 42k, 21k.

For Kids, Parents & Families

The 5k Family race (starting at 1:45 pm) is designed to give youngsters an opportunity to try out a skating event, but with all the benefits of racing, including sweat check, race bibs, finishers medals, award ceremony and prizes for the top 3 male and female finishers, web-published finishing times and use of the recovery area for refreshments afterwards. We invite a parent or guardian to accompany their children if they wish.

Timing and Age Categories

Electronic timing will be provided by SportStats. Results will be available online at http://www.sportstats.ca/ on the day of the race. Results will be shown by event and gender and broken down into the following age categories:
